The Future of Geoengineering and Biohumanism in the Year 2050
Emergence is for adult, city-dwelling humans living in the year 2050 who seek protection for their identity, from environmental hardships, and the growing population of humans and cyborgs. Emergence is a response to the possible and plausible implications of geoengineering and the beneficial and tragic effects it can have on human’s daily lives. My collection also explores the future of biohumanism, specifically, the vulnerability of humans living with artificial and digital implants. Emergence explores how humans will live and play between their virtual and physical realities in 2050. My future forecasts are provocations of a collapse scenario in the next 30+ years.
Grow Your Own Clothes
Growing biodegradable clothes has become an affordable option as oil and
manufacturing costs rise. Made out of biodegradable kombucha-based material.
Hacker Resistant Shell
Humans born with disabilities are at an advantage, as artificial body parts, such as the bionic leg, become desirable and more affordable. Made out of carbon fiber and synthetics.
Holographic Avatar Gown
Personal avatars can conceal identity and gender, also serving as a proxy between digital and physical realities. Made from reflected light produced by special programmable holographic plates.
Second Skins for Immunity
Highly resistant medicines are injected or woven into textiles that help combat
drug-resistant bacteria. Made out of polymer mesh fiber to fight disease.
Heat Resistant Body Suit
Bi-neural warfare becomes highly sophisticated, using a myriad of strategies by targeting specific neurological implants. Made out of polypropylene and chemical microparticles.
Concealing Identity and Sulfate Protective Textiles
Gas masks and hoods made of cellulose fibers, chemical microparticles and
crystalline compounds that protect humans from sulfate fallouts
