Final year thesis - Town Centre proposal, Tarangambadi The proposal is hypothetical considering Tarangambadi/ Trankebar was proposed to be developed as a rural tourism site being an erstwhile Danish Colony. Keeping in view of providing basic infrastructure to the existing fishing community and creating a center for incoming tourists such that the town's sanctity is preserved an eccentric town center was proposed. This involved the provision of a bypass to the ECR/ NH-45A highway, bus station to cater to both local and tourist transport, administrative, commercial and recreational facilities along with tourist inns and information center. The visual language of the town center attempts to recreate the Danish-Tamil buildings inside Trankebar.
