Sometimes hot coffee just doesn't cut it! Who wants a hot beverage first thing when you wake up in the morning and it's already hot outside? Cold brewed coffee is incredibly refreshing and delicious, especially when served cold straight from the ice box. In this advertisement, I wanted to juxtapose that feeling of unbearable heat with a cold and refreshing beverage. This desert scene brings that dry, hot environment to life through the color of the rocks and the imagery of dead or dry vegetation. I contrasted the bottle, with a label full of cool blues, against that background to show that this is a cool, invigorating beverage to enjoy even on the hottest of days.
This product label was done entirely in Adobe Illustrator. I started with the idea of the zodiac for the brand, and I wanted to include that as part of the branding so I drew all 12 of the zodiac symbols and arranged them to frame the main focus of the label. Since I am a coffee lover and a leo, a lion was a natural choice for me to focus on. Secondary elements include imagery of coffee leaves, flowers, and berries.

Here you can see the Zodiac Coffees label comped on an actual cold brew coffee bottle. As you can see, the label is scaled to be completely visible when viewed from the front. This shows a very clear branding and will hopefully help the product literally jump off the shelf.

Zodiac Coffees

In this class project we were instructed to pick a product, rename it and design a new label including at least one illustration.

Being a coffee lover, coffee was a natural choice for me. A friend recently introduced me to the wonders of cold-brewed coffee, which is absolutely delicious and refreshing, so of course I decided to design a new label for a cold brew coffee brand.

Since coffee brands always have multiple roasts available, I chose to name my coffee company "Zodiac Coffees;" this would afford the opportunity market 12 different roasts while maintaining a similar look between products. This particular product is called "Leo Wake Up Blend" (hence the lion) with the tagline "Greet morning with a roar!"

All elements of the label were drawn in Illustrator. Photos in the ad were edited in Photoshop and assembled in Illustrator.
