Tiger graphic
Class project. The original assignment was to divide a standard 9"x10" plain white paper bag into 9 sections and create one cohesive graphic design that differed in some way in from square to square.
I chose to use each square in different, contrasting ways to create the overall image of a tiger. Different methods included the use of circumscribing lines of differing weights and values to illustrate the black stripes versus the white background of the tiger fur; playing with the contrast of the bold tiger stripes against an obviously man-made pattern; and superimposing the tiger's stripes on patterns found on other animals (specifically a giraffe's spots and a leopard's rosettes). My goal was to create a bold, contrasting graphic image with an overarching cohesive design that was not immediately apparent, like a tiger camouflaged in the jungle.
This project was originally created by hand with pencils, pens, and paper, then later vectorized in Adobe Illustrator.
