In this class assignment we had the opportunity to design a new product geared towards children. Originally simply a plush dalmatian toy, I thought of the "Spot the Fire Dog" concept to make the toy more appealing to youngsters. Historically associated with firehouses, though not commonly seen today, Spot comes with her very own doggy fireman's helmet, and her box is designed to look like a little firetruck. Additional products in this toy line could include an actual toy firetruck scaled to fit Spot comfortably inside on her way to fight fires and a cozy firedog house for when she's off-duty.
The four views of the product help ensure that the toy would be produced properly if it were to go into production.
This design was hand drawn and colored using markers.
