jo smiles - Personal photos of a friend. This girl is such a free spirit and I have never seen her without a smile. I thought these shots represented her as the beautiful, radiant person she is.
yumi's stare - This was a gray day in my apartment with my tortoise shell kitty Yumi. She has this amazing animal stare that feels like it has something human in it too. She is always cautious and you can really see her thinking it through.
tuesday - I took this photo on one of my solo bike rides on the lake trail in Chicago. This was one of those rare and freakish 80 degree days in early spring; only a week after the snow melted. I just thought this said so much about spring and warmth, and the abandonment of stress it can bring.
south side - I took this on the south side of Chicago. People think graffiti means gangs or property damage. When the choice it a blue steel wall or something bold, energetic and colorful like this I know which way I lean. I really liked the way the colors were mirrored in the pool.
