This is a album cover art project I first took as an assignment during school. It is also cover art for a client's hip-hop album. He gave me complete creative freedom with coming up with the concept for the cover art. This album is called The Beauty in the Ugly, so I came up with the concept of a rose growing from the concrete, around the "ugliness" that surrounds a city. The Rose symbolizing the beauty growing from the ugly which is the murder, death, drugs, etc..
I drew this first, then I inked it, after that I scanned it into the computer and edited it and colored it in Photoshop.
It is supposed to be a whole package including the front cover, which is also like a booklet, the inside of it being a detailed track list and the actual back cover for a jewel case. All art is original and done by ME.
