SPLIT CHAIR
"SPLIT" LOUNGE CHAIR CONCEPT - This concept lounge chair series named “SPLIT” was inspired by the modern materials found these days almost everywhere – laminates, and by their biggest problem – exfoliation. We tried to emphasize this fault of the laminated materials by incorporating “splits” at the corner of the boards reversing the effect of destruction into a aesthetic intended split underlined by a bold colour.
Also the series was designed with one main focus point – to try different materials but maintain the same shape. Therefore from acrylic to solid wood and finally to moulded ply we exemplified how the difference in material can affect the visual.
