BlackBerry and Motorola Solutions Products
I began my career making phones and remote speaker microphones for BlackBerry and Motorola Solutions.
At BlackBerry I worked as part of a large engineering team on two phones, the Curve 9350 and the Q5.
For the Curve 9350, my components were the molded speaker assemblies, LDS antennas and the EMI shielding cans. I also figured out how to fit a camera flash that was added after the tooling was complete and we had received the first phone samples.
For the Q5 I was responsible for the main PCB, daughterboard and battery door, which was the entire back of the phone. Additionally, I coordinated the development of 3 custom electromechanical components, the usb, camera socket and headphone jack.
For the remote speaker microphone I was responsible for the main PCB, the flexes and the buttons.
