Vehicle Design: Mascara project
The "Mascara" is a concept car created by me in my Vehicle design specialization.
This was an intensive studio that lasted one year. The first 6 month were designated to drawing and concept design. In this period a source of inspiration has to be decided, my inspiration for this concept car was graffiti. The design needed surfaces where the user could personalize his car.
During the design research and exploration I ended up designing a car with geometric forms, with sharp corners and concave surfaces so that stickers or foils could cover this surfaces. In order for the user to personalize the car. (Look at the final pictures of the model to look at this surfaces).
The last six months we had focus in building the model in a 1:4 scale. The model was build in clay used specially for the automotive industry. After this I made a mold so that the car can be reproduced in fiber glass, painted and finally personalized with stickers and wheels(3D print).
Stickers designed by Marc Ryden.
