Urban Planning Studio - Industrial Canal Rejuvenation
Rejuvenation of industrial canal in the centre of Helmond, The Netherlands. We (3 person team) analysed the existing conditions that are stopping residents from interacting with the canal and the city around it, and separated these into three categories, namely physical, visual and mental borders. Our proposal was to shift and remove existing borders and introduce new ones where needed to transform the canal into a galvanising interactive spine for the city.
