My senior thesis is an International Design Conference that focuses on modern designers who create harmony, or “Wa” in projects through the use of traditional techniques and ideologies of Japan. The title of the conference stems from the artists ability to take traditional techniques and styles and make them harmonize in a way that works with modern design. The Idea of “Wa” stands to represent both harmony and working together in peace.
The main goal of this conference is to try and convince the members present that art is not constricted by rules and will always continue to evolve. I want to show them how many artists today use both the traditional techniques and ideologies to create beautiful works of art.
