The ZFTG Transmission Plant was a project that was asked of my company by a Major Design/Build firm located in Plymouth, MI. My team and I came in and did an initial assessment of their current BIM process, and decided to level the scope as a green project effort. We worked in the 'background' on this specific project to design, engineer (mechanical) & model a specific number of bays for bidding purposes, create high-res renderings, animations of the interior and exterior of the building, and lead the 3D clash detection/coordination efforts for our client - to ensure that their company was known as not only a BIM Participant - but a BIM leader. This project went off without a hitch, and our client ended up winning the BIM contract for this project based on mine and my team's hard work. We then trained their staff on how to successfully implement and execute BIM strategies throughout the company as a standard - one that remains to this day.
