The process of taking a shower is something that can become overlooked and forgotten when designing. There is an aging population with limited mobility that the simple process of taking a shower can actually be quite difficult. Keeping this demographic in mind, MIAD and Delta Faucet teamed up for a collaboration to design concepts for these people. We wanted to make a surround that someone would buy when they are younger, and can support them into their later years. This design helps users complete dry activities outside of the surround and complete wet activities inside, while never moving from their comfortable sitting position.
