KNITTED ART
The idea behind the project is inspired by the theme of Lucio Fontana’s spatialism. The cloth consists in a black coat with simple and minimalistic shapes and four different alternatives of shrugs. The coat, as if it was one of the artist’s canvas, is linked to our creations made of different materials and with diverse shapes by an intense relationship between light and shadow.
The shrug is entirely hand-made adopting crochet and knitting techniques.Using fingers as a crochet, I worked the starting yarn in chain and then continued in stocking sticht using arms as large needles.This tool choise has allowed me to create very broad loops in order to anhance the full and empty spaces contrast.
