Furniture Restoration Projects - An Ercol Chair and an Alvar Aalto Model Number 60 chair restored by me. Both were stripped right back to the bare wood and in the Alvar Aalto chair, dismantled. Both were cleaned, sanded using increasing grit number sandpaper. The Ercol chair was stained and they were both sprayed with several coats of AC Lacquer. In between each coat of Lacquer, they were sanded using high grit "Wet and Dry" paper. Finally, a covering of Beeswax was rubbed in to both pieces. More to come!
