Based on a knit boutique item for a missy customer, I added heat seal rhinestones and studs along with colorful whipstitching to create a relevant garment for the BKE customer.

Appliqued Fleece for Fall 2011 for The Buckle with my final submission and the final product. Due to cost issues, there was much change between the design process and the production process. Yet, the original concept remained.

A coat for BKE Fall/ Holiday 2010 using a mix of fabrics for patches and knit. The hem is a shirt tail hem from the original coat inspiration. The embroidery, whipstitch patch placement and color are designed by me. This was following the mixed fabric trend. We also informed the buyer that purple was a great color for that season as the original concept was a yellow and grey combination.
The final product of the BKE coat with most of my concept intact.
This coat for The Buckle was requested by the client for Spring 2010. They liked the jacket style but I sourced this woven fabric felted with wool to create an animal stripe effect. Animal inspired motifs are successful with their customer.
A jacket for The Buckle for Spring 2010. This sketch was sent to the factory complete with wash information. Although the flat was created in Illustrator, it was finished in Photoshop to create a wash effect for whiskering at elbows and other worn looks. The final garment as sold is also included.
This is the spec page for this grey BKE blazer for Fall 2010. I choose a satin since their customer likes a bit of glamour. I also created the applique, patches and rip stitches placement based on research in the market.

For Fall 2009 the trend was military-style outerwear. Combining cargo pockets, antique brass hardware and a convertible hood on a cotton jacket proved to be successful. The back was screenprinted and studded.

This jacket would be a heavy wool-like boucle plaid with mis-matched buttons which I sourced. To stay with-in budget I directed the factory to cut a motif from sourced ready-made embroidered lace instead of embroidery onto the garment. The effect is the same for the customer.

The Fall 2011 update to a successful style that we sold to them the year before. Since studs were a huge trend, I decided to add them to the belt. I got the layout idea from a belt we found during shopping trips. We kept the fur the same as the year before and most other details. i did add a series of pin tucking at the princess seam which is my own aesthetic.

Junior Outerwear & Knits 2008-2010

For two years, I designed full-time for a Foreign Resources Corporation, a private label outerwear company with a showroom. My main account was junior brand, The Buckle designing some of the BKE product. The challenge was channeling this young, trendy customer. I found ways to make successful items that satisfied the buyers while utilizing my own aesthetic. As a result The Buckle buyers bought more styles from FRC than they had previously.
