The George Town Business Improvement
District Scheme (BIDS) project aims to
rejuvenate the KOMTAR District and the inner city by creating a public-private partnership to augment public services and create a more vibrant shopping experience. BIDS works on a strong collaboration and partnership model between business and property owners within BIDS area with the State Government and MPPP.
In December 2010 the George Town BIDS
pro-tem committee was formed consisting
of stakeholders of the district, the municipality and Think City Sdn Bhd, to spearhead the BIDs initiative.
