When this project was assigned I wanted to bring back the lavish, big, bulky, two handed, Art Deco perfume bottle. The Perfume bottles of today are more or less disposable and plain in my opinion. I wanted to design a bottle that the owner would keep. Not only for the use of applying fragrance, but for the elegance of design as well.
A wooden buck of the bottle and atomizer were made first. Then a rubber mold poured. A two part polyurethane resin with a pink pigment and pearl essence were mixed and used to cast both parts.
The brass details were a mixture of painted wood, brass sheet and tube, hand cut and finished.
