Students were given an opportunity to design using Wilsonart Laminate products and their idea of regionalism in North Carolina for inspiration. Through research of the Cherokee Native Americans' ideology towards connections with Mother Earth, I was inspired to create a sleek, contemporary rocking chair form using 1" phenolic core laminated resin. This design is a finalist for the competition and was featured in the Wilsonart kiosk at ICFF in New York City in May 2015.
