For my final bachelor project I was responsible for re-designing the structure system for a water purification unit. This was a live project and the client had asked me and another student to redevelop their system from a one-off unit, to a batch manufactured system. I redeveloped the structure system so it could be rotational moulded. This change was beneficial as it met the criteria that the company (Elentec Ltd.) had set out:
- To be able to deal with a heavier load
- To be easily transportable
- To meet the standard international shipping sizes
- To be resistant against corrosive chemicals/effluent waste
- To be manufactured on a batch scale of 500 units
- To meet Elentec's budget for manufacture of £15,000
