The NEXT TO NORMAL Twitter Performance

For the Pulitzer and Tony Award-Winning Broadway musical NEXT TO NORMAL, I wrote a Twitter campaign which told the story of the entire musical over the span of four weeks. Told entirely through the voice of the characters, each character would tweet their thoughts on their daily events, effectively taking followers through the musical's storyline as if it were happening in real time. Links to songs were included to introduce potential ticket buyers to the show's music. The campaign proved a groundbreaking use of Twitter to promote a Broadway show, amassing over a million followers. It went on to win 2 OMMA Awards, a ClickZ Award, and was nominated for the Webby.
