Clothes Hanger Project - Designers have created clothes hangers that function well aesthetically and that allow clothing to drape well, but the question of ease of use is largely unaddressed. My objective is to design a hanger that is quick and easy to use while maintaining the simplicity of what a clothes hanger should be.
Clothes Hanger Project - Early concept development and exploration sketches
Clothes Hanger Project - Chipboard sketch models
Clothes Hanger Project - 2-D concept incorporating guide channel for hanger sliding motion
Clothes Hanger Project - Working foamcore model for testing of product functionality
Clothes Hanger Project - Exploration of shape of shoulder support
Clothes Hanger Project - Overall concept direction sketch
Clothes Hanger Project - Final model construction, using basswood and hardening polymer clay
Clothes Hanger Project - Final model
Clothes Hanger Project - Detail, showing finger grip
Clothes Hanger Project - Color tests
Clothes Hanger Project - Design allows quick and easy insertion of clothes hanger through neck of a shirt without stretching the fabric
Infinity Envelope - The objective of this project is to create an envelope that can be mailed and re-mailed for as long as possible, replacing the disposable envelope.
Infinity Envelope - Materials Research Various materials were tested for their durability and writing properties. The data was laid out in a matrix to determine the optimal materials for the product.
Infinity Envelope - Sketch models created to explore form, fastening, and hinges
Infinity Envelope - Exploration in form and fastening
Infinity Envelope - Exploration in materials, folds, fastening, and sealing
Infinity Envelope - Final mock-up in PPC film with textured acetate front PPC film is a durable shell for the body, while textured acetate provides a surface with desirable writing qualities and the ability to erase graphite and ink, while smudging is minimal
Infinity Envelope - The envelope flexes open to allow insertion of a letter The flap is inserted, securing the letter The envelope's surface accepts many types of ink and graphite without smearing A stamp properly placed on the corner of the envelope keeps its contents secure until the recipient opens it
Infinity Envelope - The textured acetate writing surface allows even permanent ink to be removed with a rubber eraser

Bathroom Tissue Holder - Work-in-progress The objective of this project is to create a bathroom tissue holder that eliminates the need for the common spring-loaded core that can fall onto the floor. This design attractively cradles a roll of tissue, and only one hand is needed to replace a roll.
Bathroom Tissue Holder - Initial concept sketch
Bathroom Tissue Holder - Aesthetic direction sketch. Inspired by flowers.
Bathroom Tissue Holder - Rendering in Solidworks
Modular Storage Unit - Motivated by a lifestyle of frequent relocation and inspired by the milk crate, this project was born. The units can be joined together handle-to-handle, using the lids as the interface, allowing many units to be stacked together to create stable storage solutions.
