David Friend Poster - I designed this poster for our 2007 Magazine Day. I was the coordinator of the event and the publicist. Vanity Fair's Editor of Creative Development, David Friend (pictured), was our key note speaker. He wrote a book, Watching the World Change: The Stories Behind the Images of 9/11. In the photograph of Friend the Trade Centers are faded in the background. I wanted to make the destruction dominate the poster and make the viewer want to read.
New York City Poster Project - The Journalism Department at San Jose State went to NYC over spring break 2007. The task for my visual communications class was to create a poster to be placed in the journalism building to get people to go on this trip again. I took all the photographs that were taken by the students and placed them in concentric circles by color. I wanted to symbolize a target because the New York City Trip was a bull's eye and it showed that everyone's trip was unique.
Megan Magazine - Another project in my visual communications class was to create a magazine cover for ourselves. We studied covers for about a month and focused on certain elements that would draw a viewer's attention. Odd numbers, complimentary colors, brilliant photography and quick headlines. This was a fun project and I am incredibly proud of it.
