Sun Crystals packaging - The Johnson & Johnson Global Strategic Design Office approached tda to help rebrand Sun Crystals, an all-natural, low calorie sweetener. Thomas Dooley and myself would lead the tda design team through branding and packaging for this project. I created this design based on learnings from the first of three major quantitative consumer testing sessions.

Crocs hangtag & shoe packaging - In preparation to go public in the beginning of 2006, crocs hired tda to rebrand the company and product. I lead the charge to create a new logo. After completing the mark I was responsible for the new identity system and overall visual branding. I completed a variety of packaging projects, art directed the new website and helped with design direction for the national advertising campaign. In 2007 Crocs sold 30 million pairs of shoes, most of which carried this new brand system.
Newton Running shoe environmental-friendly packaing - Newton Running’s new titanium shoes are smart, and they deserve a smart box. My approach was to design a box for these special shoes rather than put the shoes in a box that was already designed. The package construction is molded paper pulp (think egg-carton) in the shape of a pair of nested shoes. The packaging is light, space saving, and made with 100% PCW pulp that is 100% compostable.
Teko Socks environmental-friendly packaing - Teko came to tda for a branding solution to launch an environmental focused sock company. We were asked to create recycleable packaging with minimal ink and no stickers, staples or glue. After Thomas Dooley and I focused on this functional package concept, I was responsible for the graphic system to complete the packaging.
Dowman Farm jam & sauce packaging - This project was done independently for a client of my personal design studio, wide open creative. For the 2009 season, Dowman Farm (Taranaki, New Zealand) was seeking a new label system that would present her down-to-earth organic farming practices in a lively and memorable way to new buyers. My solution sought to celebrate all that Jenny's delicious jams offer in a contemporary hip-kitchen-vibe way without leaving the grass-roots honesty of the farm behind.
Thule roof rack systems packaing - I collaborated with fellow designer Teresa Forester to design a packaging system that would need to function for 83 different box shapes. The packaging concept was based on a simple and clear name and number system to help sales personal sort and sell the extensive range of thule products.
Coromega supplement packaging - Currently competing nation-wide with numerous low-cost omega-3 brands, Coromega wanted to reposition their omega-3 as the premier, tasty natural choice. I was put in charge of research and the design process to bring this product to life in an otherwise conservative and bland isle of the super market. My vibrant color-flood with custom type treatment excited the client and added a much needed spark to the nutrition supplement section at vitamin stores and super markets.
Cloudveil fishing waders packaging - When Cloudveil proceeded to break into the tight market for high-end fly fishing waders [dominated by Simms and Patagonia] they came to my side of the tda office for a unique packaging solution. This tube-box allowed the waders to be quickly rolled up and slid in, easing the retail side of selling such a cumbersome apparel product. And the giant wrap-around photo is awesome.
