Short Radius Human Centrifuge

The Short Radius Human Centrifuge is a project based out of the MIT Man Vehicle Lab. The project is a prototype that hopefully one day will be used in space. Astronauts will bike on the centrifuge, counteracting the negative physiological effects of microgravity.

I researched parts and sensors and helped model, design, and fabricate the centrifuge. I also machined several parts of the centrifuge, including the one in the picture. We later attached much larger programmable exercise bike to the centrifuge. This metal piece helped hold the bike in place.
