Take a Look at the Coroflot Mobile Work Unit's (MWU) Modular Office System
You may have already heard the news, but we recently unveiled our new trailer-office in Portland, Oregon, the Coroflot Mobile Work Unit (MWU). The concept grew from a desire to create a space solution that referenced both the mobility and creative talent of the Coroflot community.
One of the most exciting features of the MWU is the modular office system, also known as S.O.S. (Stix Office System). The idea was driven by the question of how office furniture can move ahead. An increasingly mobile workforce demands flexibility, and we wanted to create something that would make it easy to change and adapt our workspace as needed.
"We talked a lot about the flexibility of today's work style and trying to reflect hat in the way this office works," says Laurence Sarrazin, the Portland-based designer behind the project.
Take a look at some of the different setups and components.
"I was looking for a way to integrate how the polycarbonate wall was held up and how the built-in furniture is modulated. It's kind of like a stud wall, but it just creates flexibility." - Laurence Sarrazin
" You can fine-tune the workstation for each person." - Laurence Sarrazin
Lightweight fiberboard, felt, foam and plastic accents.

United by clean geometric expression and vibrant color.
"You can tweak all of the accessories to change the function of the space." - Laurence Sarrazin
Special places for special things, such as plant friends.
Configurable to adapt to both different workers and different work. Standing, sitting, collaborating, creating, tending.
"There's flexibility on a personal scale and on a structural scale." - Eric Ludlum
