Electro-Mechanical Can Crusher
The Electro Mechanical can crusher was designed to produce optimum output forces to crush cans. This was done through the use of a crank and slider mechanism using the required gear ratio to 'step up' to the require torque to crush a can.
The crusher was controlled by an electronic system that not only turned the motor on and off but measured the force output by the crushing arm. A light gate monitored for the presence of a can in the hopper and automatically shut the system off when this was empty.
